We have had to say goodbye to many people wonderful people in 2023 and we just wanted to say a big thank you from the Patina team.

Nikki Gunson

Nikki Gunson, one of our incredible Patina artists has been with us since the very beginning of Moving On! That's an amazing 21 years. She has made amazing artwork with thousands of children. 2023 was sadly her last year so we wanted to say a huge thanks to Nikki for her massive contribution to Moving On.

Phil Rose

Head of Patina production since the early days of Patina. You have made Moving On possible with your big smile and amazing costumes. Thank you so much to Phil Rose for being such an important part of Moving On.

Peter Earl

Many thanks go to Peter Earl who has been head of the Stewards for Moving On for as long as we can remember. Without Peter and his wonderful team of Stewards we just wouldn't be able to run Moving On. Thank you for your dedication over the years.

We followed the 2023 Moving On Parade with our ever-popular free Twilight Tales event in the Paddock that evening.

We were joined by three professional storytellers William Graham Stewart, Amelia Armande and Richard Waring, who captivated our audience with some old and new stories, including Beowulf, Shrek and Golem.

The fabulous Kaleidoscope team joined us to perform pieces from 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' and 'Come From Away'.

It was magical to spend the warm evening in the Paddock celebrating the children who had just moved on.

Thanks again to our wonderful storytellers, Kaleidoscope and the fabulous volunteers for giving up their time for such a fantastic event.

2023 was the year of the stage! We partnered with local children's drama group Kaleidoscope who came with us into our 14 schools to reveal which play each school was going to be in the parade. All the children then had the chance to explore the characters and plot of their play in drama workshops in each of the schools, followed by costume design sessions with our professional artists.

After days of costume making workshops across the area, the children's big parade day came. We had such fun immersing ourselves in the theatrical world, getting into character and enjoying an amazing parade, cheered on by thousands of well-wishers along the streets of Lewes.

The day was rounded off by our Twilight Tales storytelling festival, with plays and picnics in the Paddock, as the sun went down on a beautiful day.
